Beauty Wishlist April 2017

Beauty Wishlist April 2017

Hello friends! Today I thought I would share my wishlist for the month of April. It seems like every week, there are constantly new makeup products that get released and it gets so hard to keep up. While there are tons of makeup products that I am currently lusting over, I’ve narrowed it down to just a few.

1. Manny MUA x Jeffree Star Cosmetics collaboration highlighter in “Eclipse”

To be honest, I want everything in this collection but if I had to pick one item from the collection, it has to be this highlighter.

2.  Benefit Cosmetics “Galifornia” blush/box-o-powder

It has been a few years since Benefit last released a new box-o-powder and this blush looks like it’ll be beautiful for the spring and summer months!

3.  Colourpop Cosmetics Pressed Eyeshadows

Colourpop has so many products that I have on my wishlist, but the most recent ones have been their new pressed eyeshadows. All the reviews have been positive and are super affordable at only $5 a pop.

4. Colourpop Cosmetics “Fairy Floss” Lipgloss

Of all the Colourpop lip glosses, “Fairy Floss” seems to be one of the most popular shades, been wanting to try it for a while now!

5. Benefit Cosmetics “Rollerlash” Mascara

I hear nothing but praises for this mascara, and as much as I love drugstore mascaras, if I have a little extra money to splurge, I definitely want to try out this mascara one day.

6.  Kat von D Lock-it Setting Spray

I’m in dire need of a new setting spray and I may just spend the money on this one! It seems to be getting rave reviews!

That’s all for my wishlist for this month! What products have you been eyeing this month? Let me know in the comments below!

Project 10 Pan: 04/08/2017

FullSizeRender 3

Happy Saturday, friends! I realized that it has been a few years since I last did a Project 10 Pan, and over those years, I have accumulated a lot of makeup, especially lip products. Since I am really new at blogging, I thought it would be fun to post my progress with you all! Something to keep in mind is that some of these products I have already hit pan on, but I would like to use it all up so I can finally get rid of it and make more room in my makeup collection. Another note is that I did not include certain items because I use them every single time I wear makeup anyway; this includes foundation, concealer, eyeliner, mascara, etc. I really wanted to focus on the things that are harder for me to go through such as eyeshadow and blush. Without further ado, these are the products for my Project 10 Pan for April:

Product #1: Benefit “thrrrob” Blush

FullSizeRender 9

So this blush/box-o-powder has been discontinued for a few years now, and in reality, I should probably toss it considering I’ve had it since I was a senior in high school. But, I am adamant about using it all up. It’s a beautiful cool toned pink, and I think it’ll be lovely to wear for the spring season. Luckily, I’ve hit pan on this already.

Product #2: Colourpop “Rayezor” Lippie Stick

FullSizeRender 4

Again, another now discontinued product that I purchased about half a year ago. This was a collaboration between Colourpop Cosmetics and Youtuber ItsmyRayeRaye. It’s a beautiful peach lipstick that I think will look lovely with a gold smokey eye or even a natural eye look with just some mascara.

Product #3: Violet Voss x Laura Lee Eyeshadow Palette

Another Youtube collaboration, this time with Violet Voss and Youtuber Laura Lee. I’m not sure if this is discontinued for good, as on the Violet Voss website, this palette just has “Sold Out” written over it. This is my current favorite eyeshadow palette as it has every color I could possibly want to create an everyday smokey eye. Right now, I’ve been loving the pink and cranberry shades to create a super girly makeup look. The shadows of this palette are well pigmented and blendable, was definitely worth the $45.

Product 4 and 5: L’oreal Infallible eyeshadows in “Blinged & Brilliant” and “Eternal Sunshine”

FullSizeRender 10
L’oreal Infallible eyeshadow “Blinged & Brilliant” (left) and “Eternal Sunshine” (right).

When these eyeshadows first came out, I was collecting them like Pokemon. These are creamy, pigmented, and looked amazing when applied with a damp brush. They were known for dupes of the Armani “Eyes to Kill” eyeshadows I believe, but at a fraction of the price. However, I definitely need to get rid of these as soon as possible, have had them for way too long

Product 6: Urban Decay “Naked 2” Lipstick

FullSizeRender 6

This was a total impulse buy, hence why I need to force myself to use it up. It’s a lovely nude shade that applies nicely, however, I find it’s a tad too light for me. I prefer using it on top of other lipsticks or lip liners.

Product #7: Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick in “Rebel Rose”

FullSizeRender 2

This product I love. I bought this initially just to try out Wet n Wild’s liquid lipstick formula, but I did not expect to love it as much as I do. It’s the perfect light pinky nude, with a hint of mauve. It’s affordable and the formula is awesome: comfortable and not too drying. I included this product in my Project 10 Pan not because I’m in a hurry to get rid of it like the other products, but simply because I know I didn’t need to buy it. I have many other lipsticks that are similar to this shade. But man, do I love this lipstick.

Product #8: e.l.f. Cream Eyeshadow in “Cruisin’ Chic”

FullSizeRender 8

Apparently the theme of this Project 10 Pan is Impulse Buys, as this was another one. I was at Dollar Tree just looking around at what kind of makeup they had and I came across this product. I use it as a base for my bronzy/gold eyeshadows and it works great! Very creamy and pigmented. But I definitely need to use it more.

Product #9: Jeffree Star “Peach Goddess” Highlighter

FullSizeRender 5

This highlighter is ah.may.zing. It’s blinding and I adore the glow it gives me. It’s also huge. This is probably my most used highlighter but I have yet to make a dent in it. However, I am determined to. I’m eyeing Jeffree Star’s “Princess Cut”  and “Siberian Gold” highlighter, but I know I need to use up the ones I already have first.

Product #10: Wet n Wild Contour Palette (contour side) in “Caramel Toffee”

FullSizeRender 7

So, similar to the JS highlighter, for months, I’ve used this product every single time I wear makeup yet for some reason, I still have so much of the contour powder left over.

So those are my products for this month’s Project 10 Pan. Fingers crossed I do well! I hope everyone has a lovely weekend! I have plenty of studying to do as midterms are next week, bleck! Do you have any makeup products that you need to use up? I’d love to hear about it! Thanks for reading!

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in “Lolita” Review

Happy Tuesday, friends! Hope everyone is having a great start to their week!  Today I’m going to review what I believe is a must-have lipstick to have! As many of you know, up until about last year, Kat Von D’s liquid lipstick in her coveted shade “Lolita” was sold out everywhere. During one of the many Sephora trips I took searching for the liquid lipstick, I decided to take a look at the Studded Kiss lipsticks. There are so many beautiful shades, and suddenly my eyes took notice of a “Lolita” lipstick! I didn’t even know there was a Studded Kiss version of the shade! So of course I purchased it right away, and it now is one of my favorite lipsticks. I usually lean towards more nude/pink shades, but there is definitely good reason why “Lolita” is such a beloved shade: it seriously goes with any makeup look. Right know I have a sort-of gold/brown halo eyeshadow look going on and I had no clue what kind of lip to do. I didn’t wanna do a nude lip but I didn’t wanna go full on vampy lip either. “Lolita” to the rescue!

First of all, I gotta say that Kat Von D has the most gorgeous packaging! From the studded lipstick tube, down to the “KVD” initials on the lipstick itself. “Lolita” is beautiful mauve shade, with a creamy matte finish. For those sensitive to scents, the lipstick does have a vanilla scent. This lipstick applies so beautifully. It has the creamiest application I’ve ever experienced with a lipstick (honestly, how many more times can I say “lipstick”…). This lipstick wore comfortably, and I did not find it to be drying at all. However, as this is not a liquid lipstick, it will fade with eating/drinking/talking. Even if you have the liquid lipstick version of this shade now (last year the company did a major restock), I still think the regular lipstick version is definitely worth owning as well. You can purchase “Lolita” on the Sephora website here.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week! Thanks for reading!

e.l.f. Hydrating Gel Melt Cleanser Review

Hello everyone! Today I am going to review the e.l.f. Hydrating Gel Melt Cleanser! The price of this may vary depending on where you get it, but I got mine at Walmart for $10. You can also get this at Target, Ulta, or here on the e.l.f. website. This review is loooong overdue as I actually purchased this over a month ago, and am almost finished with it! I guess that already tells you that I like the product hahah!

This is the description on the box:

It seems like in the year 2016, it was the year of gel melt cleansers in terms of makeup removal. I believe the one that really started this trend was Clinique’s Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm, then IT Cosmetics made their own version, among many other brands. For those that are not familiar with how these work, you essentially rub the product all over your dry skin, then follow it up with water to “melt” the makeup. For reference, I have only tried e.l.f.’s version of this type of makeup removal gel so I cannot compare it to the other brands. I purchased this because I wanted to see what the hype was about with this type of makeup removal without breaking the bank. This e.l.f. cleanser is also an extremely affordable option with it being a third of the price of Clinique’s version (which retails for $29).

The e.l.f. gel melt cleanser has the consistency of exactly that–a gel. Because this was my first time using such a product, it definitely feels weird to be rubbing this on dry skin. I was curious to see if this would work for eye makeup as well–for those curious, I am happy to report that this does not sting my eyes! Now, you can definitely feel the product in your eyes and it definitely was uncomfortable, but it wasn’t painful by any means in my opinion.

Now….how well did it do at removing my makeup? A really good job actually! In my opinion, a little goes a long way with this makeup remover. As the box says, the gel turns into a milky cleanser and “melts” your makeup. It was a really cool experience to see all my layers of foundation and whatnot literally melt off my skin. I found that this product did not make my skin feel dry or “tight” after using it. I personally prefer to double cleanse, so I use my Biore cleanser after using this, but I do have pretty oily skin. If you have dry skin and want to double cleanse, definitely use a super gentle cleanser! Something to also note that genuinely surprised me: after using this product, I noticed that my pores looked visibly smaller! Although that was not a claim on the box, it was definitely a nice surprise! I will say that I would recommend this gel cleanser for face makeup, not so much for eye makeup. Nonetheless, I use it for both as it still removes most of my eyeshadow and eyelash glue, but I always use an eye makeup remover right after. All in all, I highly recommend checking out this gel melt cleanser! Before splurging on the more expensive brands, definitely give this one a try! Thank you so much for reading!
